AnaMaria Connerly and Àine Belton

Working with Pearse Street Drugs Treatment Centre

Anamaria Conneely [NCAD] and Àine Belton [IADT]

Title: ‘Still life in motion’

Our project was based in Pearse Street Drug Treatment Clinic, with the Young People's Project. We had four and a half weeks working with two teenagers that were interested in the area of Art. Their attention was focused on improving their drawing skills, which clashed with our own area of expertise, being media. So we decided after various lively workshops, to combine the idea of traditional art i.e., still life, with stop-motion animation and experimental sound art. This brought together the interests of all of us working as a collective, a unique experience for all.
