INTER ART COLLEGE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME - 2008
CREATE: The national development agency for collaborative arts, invests in the development of skills around collaborative arts practice. In 2008, students from four colleges participated in the Inter Art College Learning Development Programmewhich has been running for six years:National College of Art and DesignInstitute of Art , Design and Technology, Dun LaoghaireDublin Institute of TechnologyTisch School of Performing Arts , New York University The programme consisted of collaboration between two students from these colleges who work in different medium, and participants of a community organisation. It is a learning experience of shared knowledge and learning through doing. Most of these students are studio based and collaborative practice would be new to most of the students that took part in the programme . The students attended preparatory orientation in collaborative arts practice, put in place by Create. the national development agency for collaborative arts. They are then placed with a community group to engage with, for a seven week period. An exhibition of work is organised from the programme . All collaborative groups get to show the work they produced on the programme . The exhibition takes place at Thisisnotashop from 30th April until 3rd May, 11-7.
